2nd full day in Sydney

Today John and I went down to the famous Bondi Beach and swam. I found the waves large but he said that they were baby waves if even if he would consider them waves. We also drove to the a point where Captain Cook came in.

The first full day in Sydney

Rose and I went to the Koala Park Sancuatary just outside the city. It has been established for a very long time.
While they we saw many traditional types of birds and other animals for Australia.
This sanatary is very unique because you can go in, pat and feed the kanagroos and pat the koalas.

The last day in the south of Japan

I woke up this morning in Beppu and took a lovely onsen, which is actually in the hostel. It is one of the only hostel that has their own onsen. It is amazing, natural hot spring water to soak in any time of the day or night.
After a lovely soak, I went to Takasakiyama Natural Zoological Garden which is on Takasaki Mountain. It was amazing to see many Japanese monkeys in their natural habitat.

Then I went across back into Beppu and saw Bamboo Craft Centre.

As this is the 25th of January, today is the last day for my Japan Railway pass, so I have to head back to Osaka. This will be my last trip on the Shinkensen.... I feel like I have throughly enjoyed travelling on very fast trains in japan.

On the way back to Osaka, I stopped at Hiroshima to have my favourite meal in Japan which is similiar to pizza but made out of eggs...and to have a last look at the amazing cookies that they make with different fillings.

Trip to Aso

Today, I took several early morning trains to get to Aso. After about three hours of travel I arrived in Aso. While there I saw snow for the first time in about 2 months. I was nice to see, for those of you that live in Canada I am sure you will not be thrilled about my snow comment.
I took a bus up the Mountain Aso which is actually an active volcano. Below are some pictures of the drive up the mountain and the actual mountain.

When I arrived back in Beppu, I found a hot spring fountain that is open to anyone.
