Melbourne

I spent 2 days and 3 nights in Melbourne. As time was limited I did not having the opportunity to travel the Great Ocean Road however I was able to get on a cruise to swim with the dolphins in the wild.

The first day I spent the day in the town. My friend, her husband and their four children took me downtown the night before for supper. It was great. The next day I spent the day and went on a free bus that took me around the town and saw the Victoria Market, the Docklands and Federation Square. It was good. It was easy to get around with the free transportation provided by the city.

Alice Springs and the Outback

From Darwin I flew to Alice Springs which I thought would be a small town however it has developed as a community that a lot of people fly into before travelling by road transit down to Urlu. It is also home to many Indigious people. Around Alice there are many communities. I stayed at an amazing hostel called Alice Lodge and it was fantastic.
I had a night in Alice and then headed on a 3 day and 2 night camping trip to the outback. I learned that cameas are very useful and popular animals in the outback because of their ability to not need a lot of water for long periods of time.

In the outback, I saw Urlu, King's Canyon and the Olgas. I personally thought the Canyon was the most interesting. Of the whole camping trip, I learned about native plants and their healing propeties and was able to see all the southern stars because we slepted directly under the stars in aussie's sleeping equipment. It was an amazing site.

On the way back to Alice Spring I saw a road train. It is a transport trunk that has at least 3 trailers behind it.

After returning to Alice, I spent half the next day exploring the town and interacting with the Indigious people, it was great. In the afternoon I left for Melbourne.

I would have enjoyed having another day in Alice.

Darwin

Darwin is considered part of the Top End of Australia. After arriving from Cairns, I went to my hostel and because I only had two half days and one full day in Darwin, I decided to go and see one of the national parks. The national park that I went to was Litchfield National Park. It was an amazing place, which very large termin mounds - two different types and many waterfalls.

On the way to the Top of Australia

After Rockhampton, I flew from there to Brisbane and then onto Cairns. I arrived into Brisbane without any delay and then had an 1 and a half delay. After boarding the plane, I arrived in Cairns which was very hot compared to Brisbane. I called the place where I was to stay and they came and got me. It was a dumb – no air con and after one sleep there I went and changed to another hostel.
Anyway, on a positive note, I found the lagoon at the end of the water by the pier. It was amazing and very large.

On the 16th of February I took a boat out to the Great Barrier Reef, it was amazing the company was called Reef Magic. During this trip, I learned to Scuba Dive.. It was incredible. I saw many different types of fish and coral and even a baby shark.
