Tripping around Japan
Since I last wrote, I only started travelling again on Wednesday the 10th before that I was just moving around Osaka, trying to get some rest after being on the road for so long. However, to all my trampoline friends, my friend that I am staying with found me a trampoline club in the next town over to where she lives and I decided I needed to do some good exercise, so I went to the trampoline club and participated. It was interesting because it was outside infront of a graveyard and below a major freeway. The club is there because it is hard to find a place that has enough ceiling room to jump. I was very welcome to come and it was different for me to jump outside, above ground under a freeway. I understand from the coach that they practice all year round there, even in the snow. Wow, I am impressed by the deciation of the coach and the owner of the club. I made some new friends and worked on my Japanease. It is difficult but I am slowly getting a few more words. On the 10th, I took my first ride on one of the JR Railway - fast trains from Osaka to Tokyo called the Shinkansen "bullet trains", they are fast. The first train I took went 552.6 km and got me from Osaka to Tokyo in less than 3 hours. Then the second train I took from Tokyo to Akita was moving at the same speed. It is weird to feel the pressure on the windows moving at that speed. It took about 2 hours to cover the remaining part of the trip. Therefore, I was able to get to the top part of the first island in less than 7 hours. It is amazing the train system here in Japan. I have to go get a bus.. so I will continue at a later date...
