The dinner cruise on the Zambezi River
I have finished my second tour and at my friend’s in Zambia. My flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg was okay however I did not have anyone to pick me up. So thank goodness for the British Airways travel counter person because she was able to call the Backpack Ritz to get someone to pick me up.
I arrive at the Backpacks at 12:00 am and had to be ready by 5:00 am. It was not a place I would want to stay again.
Next morning I met everyone that was on the tour. There were 8 people not including myself and they were older but had a lot of spirit in them. We travel for several days in South Africa and then cross into Botswana.

The border crossing into Botswana
The crossing was easy. We stayed one night in Botswana at a lovely place called Elephant Sands. It was so relaxing. The water hole for the elephants and other animals were within 5 feet of where we sat for eating our dinner. Besides the mos. I could have spent another day there. Then we crossed from Botswana into Zambia. What an interesting experience that was.

We arrived in Livingstone Zambia and stayed at a night. We went on a boat cruise down the Zambezi River. Then I took a bus from Livingtone to Lusaka. Let’s just say the roads are not very well maintained. It was a 6 hour trip and it seemed like 9 hours. I got there and it was crazy. I found my friend’s sister and brother and we back to their place. Today, we went to a church service and it was a church service that goes Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. I went to experience it. I am here in Lusaka until the 19th and will be heading towards Egypt.
