I have Arrived in Africa

It is the 30th of August and have travelled over 11 000 km by plane. I travelled from Toronto - NY - Dakar Africa - Johannesburg or Joburg and then to Durban. I was thrilled to get into a bed that evening after travelling that far.
The On the Beach backpackers hotel was extractly what it says it is.. on the beach.. All the houses are fenced in down here with security codes for protections for many things especially animals and of course crime. I had a lovely sleep and then met the rest of the group I will be travelling with for this course of my trip.
Today is the 30th of August and we travelled from 7 this morning to about 5 this evening to our first destination. It is a backpackers heaven on the water and in the bush. You would never find it if you did not have someone to take you there. I am sharing a room with a girl from Newcastle England. I have seen many things and when internet connection is a bit cheaper I will post some pictures. I have seen children swimming in puddles of water and walking various distances to get to school and in some cases, children just hanging out on the side of the road. Also, animals that just cross the road without any notice.
